Artichoke Hummus Dip {gluten free/ dairy free/ vegan}

For all the hummus lovers out there…

Adding artichokes to a traditional hummus recipe takes this popular dip to a delicious new level, and it’s as easy as adding a can of artichokes to the mix!

I whipped this up for our family’s Christmas Day dinner party and it passed the the taste test with flying colours…and my family knows hummus!

This is a great app for a get-together of any kind, even kids love hummus! It’s easy, fast and healthy.

It is also gluten free, dairy free and vegan…and did I mention delicious! Cause it is!

* makes about 2 cups


1 can (19 oz) chick peas, drained
1 large clove garlic
3 tbsp tahini paste
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp pepper
1 can (14 oz)artichoke hearts, drained
5 pitted kalamata or black olives
1/3 cup, or more of olive oil

*Some chopped parsley, 3 extra olives and drizzle of olive oil  for garnishing


Add all ingredients except olive oil to food processor and process for about 30 secs.

Add the olive oil and process until smooth, adding more oil if needed.

Transfer to serving bowl, garnish, cover and let stand 15 minutes to allow flavours to meld.

Garnish and serve at room temperature with toasted pita, tortilla chips, crackers or veggies.

*leftovers may be refrigerated for up to 5 days
