This is the best tasting, and easiest chocolate fondue recipe I have come across. I have made it many, many times and it is always a hit.
The Toblerone chocolate melts easily and combines well with the cream to create a delicious chocolate sauce that is the perfect accompaniment to your favourite fruits.
Yes, this is definitely a perfect dessert for a romantic dinner. But it is also great fun for a small dinner group, and kids love it too.
TOBLERONE CHOCOLATE FONDUE
*makes 1 cup/serves 6 (doubles easily)
2 100g Toblerone chocolate bars, broken into pieces
1/4 cup whipping cream
1 tbsp Grand Marnier liqueur (optional, replace with more whipping cream if not using)
Place broken chocolate and cream in a microwave proof bowl and heat for 1 minute.
Stir and heat again until cream is hot enough to melt the chocolate.
Stir in liqueur, if using.
Transfer the sauce to a small fondue bowl, light candle and keep warm, stirring occasionally.
Serve accompanied with assorted cut fruit such as bananas, kiwi, strawberries, clementines, apples or even simple tea cookies for dipping.
