These last few days of winter are really dragging on aren’t they…
Hurry up Spring!
Well, kinda, almost ready…
I’ve been on a mission to clean and declutter for the last couple weeks, and now it’s time to freshen up the home decor and infuse it with some much needed Spring colour.
Best place to start?
The front door of course!
And nothing screams Spring louder than tulips…and uumm…umbrellas…
Unfortunately it’s too early, and too chilly still, for real flowers here in ontario, so this super easy and quick craft idea was the perfect solution.
Inspired by ideas found on Pinterest, I set out to create something inexpensive and not too labour intensive and came up with this lovely and colourful arrangement.
Total cost was not much, only $15, and all the materials were purchased at Dollarama.
You can easily find what you need at most local dollar stores or at a craft store like Michael’s (likely a bit more expensive but better quality materials).
There’s no set rule here, copy my arrangement to a tee or use this post as a guide to create something all your own, that works with your decor and colour scheme.
Have a great weekend!
WELCOME SPRING FRONT DOOR DECOR
1 Umbrella – $2.50
4 Mini tulip bunches – $1.25 each
3 Spring Stems – $2.50 each
Ribbon – free (used what I had at home)
Total cost: $15.00
Remove price tags from all items.
Hold umbrella upright and closed in your hand, and slip each flower bunch into one of the pocket folds so that stems are hidden.
Tie the ribbon into a nice, simple bow, about halfway down the umbrella fabric.
Hang with some thin string or ribbon on a hook on your front door.
Voila! U are done!
